Is sister one-upping with baby photos intentionally?

Dear Carolyn: My oldest sister and I are the only two siblings in the family with children. My sister’s baby is exactly one year older than mine. Since before my baby was even born, whenever I send a picture to the family group chat, be it of an ultrasound or a milestone event, my oldest sister subsequently posts a picture of her baby. Her picture always shifts the family conversation away from my daughter’s milestone to my sister’s daughter.

To be fair, I don’t think my sister does this intentionally to one-up me, but I get the feeling of comparison, a sort of “mom-competition.” Everyone in the family dotes on my sister’s baby more than mine, possibly because she was the first grandbaby.

Am I petty for feeling peeved that my sister steals more attention for her baby with my family? And, if so, is that something I could reasonably bring up, or just something I need to resign myself to?
