President Donald Trump plans to use his Qatari plane for a trip to Ireland next week.

Why it matters: It would be the first international trip Trump has taken on the gifted Boeing 747 since a security threat in July led to him leaving Turkey secretly on an alternate plane.
Is it safe? There are concerns that it lacks some security features of the planes that have carried presidents for decades. But, despite that, Trump has a fondness for the Qatari jet.
Trump officials said work will start on a triumphal arch within two weeks.
The plan: Trump wants to build a 250-foot-tall arch near Arlington National Cemetery. If it goes ahead, the arch would be the president’s most significant change to the D.C. skyline.
The resistance: Historic preservationists, Democratic lawmakers and some D.C. residents have opposed the project. It is also the subject of a lawsuit brought by military veterans.
Fox News host Maria Bartiromo abruptly parted ways with the network.

In a statement yesterday: Fox said Bartiromo had left after 12 years but did not give a reason for her departure. The final episode of “Mornings With Maria” aired last week, it added.
Bartiromo is a Trump ally: There is speculation she could be his next White House press secretary. But, at a press briefing yesterday, Vice President JD Vance said he didn’t expect that.
Lindsay Clancy’s attorney requested the removal of a juror.
The case: Clancy, a 36-year-old mother from Massachusetts, admits she strangled her three children to death in 2023. The jury is deciding whether to accept her insanity defense.
The latest: Jurors will return today for their seventh day of deliberations. Yesterday, a lawyer for Clancy said a juror is risking a mistrial by not following the judge’s instructions.

According to new data: Almost 1 in every 4 homeowners is paying off their mortgage at a rate faster than they need to. But those most likely to do so are the least likely to benefit.
