Spouse not buying weight loss plan that includes beer and ice cream
Dear Carolyn: My partner bought a three-month supply of a GLP-1 and lost a lot of weight quickly. They were happy with the results, but there were two problems on my end: The monthly cost was equivalent to about two car payments, and my spouse didn’t give me any kind of heads-up before buying in. Additionally, while counting calories and eating smaller portions, they continued a daily beer and nighttime bowl of ice cream.
I said I would support continuing the med only without the beer and ice cream.
They stopped the med when the supply ran out and gained the weight back pretty quickly.
What could I have said or done differently to express my frustration at the continued junk food when the cost was so high?
