	The CIA was skeptical of a threat to President Donald Trump before his plane switch.

• Last month: Trump secretly left Air Force One to depart Turkey in a smaller aircraft following a threat from Iran. The extraordinary operation was first reported by The Post this week.

• The latest: The CIA had “low confidence” in Israeli intelligence on the Iranian threat, and analysts conveyed that skepticism to the administration, U.S. officials told The Post.

The Democratic field for president is starting to take shape.

• In The Post’s new ranking: Standouts include Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsom and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. You can see all the contenders, from front-runners to dark horses, here.

• A surprise in Wisconsin has shaken things up: David Crowley’s win in a primary for governor this week raised questions about polls’ ability to gauge what Democratic voters want.

Chatbots are doing the work of Congress with little oversight.

• Across the Capitol: Lawmakers and staffers are using AI to write speeches, sort constituent mail and more. The rapid adoption has come faster than rules can be made to govern it.

• Meanwhile, at the White House: Press secretary Karoline Leavitt will leave the administration at the end of this month to spend more time with her children, Trump said yesterday.

A woman’s ICE encounter is reigniting scrutiny of the agency’s aggressive tactics.

• What happened? An agent threatened to arrest Carolina Molina, a U.S. citizen, and raised a gun at her open driver’s side window. Video of the incident in Virginia went viral — watch here.

• What else to know: ICE plans to equip officers with gloves that deliver electric shocks to use on people who are not cooperating in the field, according to an agency notice.

Prescription drug prices recorded their sharpest drop in more than 60 years.

• Overall medical costs have continued to rise: But prescription drug prices fell by 3.1% in the year ending in July. The White House took credit, but these other factors are at play.

• Discount weight-loss drugs are one reason for the drop: Pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly is suing vendors accused of selling bootleg copies of its experimental GLP-1, retatrutide.

This year’s record El Niño will give Earth a preview of its warmer future.

• Around the world: The weather pattern will act like a climate time machine, temporarily pushing temperatures to levels that may not otherwise be reached for another decade or so.

Did you miss the solar eclipse? You won’t have to wait long for another.

• Yesterday: A total solar eclipse turned day into night in parts of Greenland, Iceland and Spain. A partial eclipse was visible in some U.S. states. See more amazing photos here.

• If you have FOMO: Another total eclipse will take place next August, with a path of totality passing over the Strait of Gibraltar, Libya and Egypt. It will be particularly spectacular.
