Vice President JD Vance said progress was made in negotiations with Iran.
One key issue: Iran agreed to inspections of its nuclear program, Vance said, restoring a safeguard from Barack Obama’s Iran deal that President Donald Trump threw out in 2018.
Vance is leading negotiations: The fact that he is the face of the talks, and not Secretary of State Marco Rubio, has stirred speculation about why Rubio is keeping a low profile.

The ruling: An appeals court erred when it overturned the conviction of Pedro Hernandez in the 1979 disappearance, the high court ruled yesterday. Liberal justices did not agree.
In the coming days: Justices are set to rule on three Trump priorities, including limiting birthright citizenship. Some experts believe justices will rule against him on two out of the three.
