How to get through to friend who texts while driving?
Dear Carolyn: I was recently visiting a friend I’ve known since sixth grade, around 50 years! We have so much fun and enjoy each other’s company. Recently I saw her in her hometown, and as she was driving us around on very busy California highways, she was continually pulling out her phone to Google something or read a text! This terrified me.
I demanded that she give me her phone while she was driving. She snarkily agreed, adding, “Okay, Mommy.”
How can I impress upon her that this behavior is dangerous when she believes she is quite capable of texting and driving!
