20-something ponders: running my own company, or love? Give advice to this Hax question.
Dear Carolyn: For the past two years, I’ve been running my own company and things are going well. For the company, I work 10 or more hours a day, six days a week and I can barely take care of my cat and feed myself.
I recently started dating a great guy, but I can see I’m going to have to cut back on work or this is going to end before it has a chance to begin. Something has to give. Thing is, what if I cut back and lose some valuable opportunities and this relationship ends up going nowhere. I’ll be kicking myself.
On the other hand, I’m afraid I’ll regret not giving it a chance. I’ve never been in a position like this before. How do you decide your priorities when you’re 28 and just starting to see results of all your hard work and don’t want to screw that up, but also don’t want life to pass you by?
