President Donald Trump welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping to D.C. yesterday.

In an unusual ceremony: Trump met Xi off the plane at Joint Base Andrews, kicking off the first Chinese state visit in more than a decade. Trump is determined to put on a show for Xi.
A judge temporarily blocked the White House’s ban against three news outlets.
Overnight: The judge said Trump’s move to ban CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House last week was likely unconstitutional. He told officials to immediately restore access.
After Trump banned Politico: Officials accused the outlet of violating standards, including by using anonymous sources. But, in an example they cited, the White House was the source.
Iran’s president called U.S. attacks “cowardly” in a defiant United Nations address.
In a direct response to Trump’s speech a day earlier: Masoud Pezeshkian said Iranians are “victims of terrorism” and held up pictures of children killed in a strike on a school.
As the war continues: It is having a surprising effect. While Trump dismisses climate change as a hoax, his war inadvertently triggered the biggest drop in carbon emissions for years.
